The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD)
The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD), was established in 2003 to promote the practice of quality cosmetic dentistry within the British dental profession and to educate the public.
The BACD has since introduced a credentialing pathway and examination for its member dentists in the form of Accreditation. Accreditation is the first and only formal recognition of excellence in cosmetic dentistry within the UK.
Accreditation is only awarded to individual dentists that have successfully demonstrated their ability to comprehensively diagnose, plan and complete cosmetic dental treatment to the highest standards in a safe and ethical manner.
Only those candidates who have successfully completed this demanding process may call themselves an accredited member of the BACD.
Dr Neil Gerrard was awarded accreditation with the BACD in November 2008. He is one of only eight dentists in the UK to have achieved such recognition.
