I’d love to invite you all to a quiz night I’m hosting at the Royal Navy Volunteer on Wednesday 8th August at 7pm. The Volley have kindly allowed me to take over their main event room for the evening with a staffed bar for those who want to have a drink on a school night!
Its £5 per person to enter the quiz and I’d recommend getting together a team of between 4-8. The prize is going to be a case of wine which was generously donated and all of the proceeds from the evening are going to Dental Mavericks.
There’s also going to be a raffle and an auction on the evening so bring some extra cash if you want a chance to win some amazing prizes! I’ve been so lucky to have some incredible support from local businesses and some of the prizes up for grabs include Bristol vs Bath rugby tickets & a meal for 2 at Pigsty, professional tooth whitening, a tandem bike ride, a bottle of bubbly, several beauty treatments, cakes, japanese street food and many more!
So please come and join me for the evening and bring your partners, friends and family too! Tickets can be purchased on the night for £5.
If you can’t make it to the quiz but you’d still like to help out, I do have a GoFundMe page and I am so so grateful for every donation I receive!
Why do I want your money? I’m going to the Rif mountains in Morocco in October to assist with an emergency dental clinic for children who are in dental pain, and have no access to dentistry. Sadly the children in this remote area have no knowledge about oral hygiene and how to prevent problems such as decay and abscesses occurring in the mouth, and when they inevitably do, they have no access to a dentists to get them out of pain. We are so lucky to have a accessible and affordable healthcare service in the UK, that provides safe and pain free solutions to dental problems but some people in the world are not so lucky.
I am going with a charity called the Dental Mavericks who have helped thousands of children end their daily dental pain over the last 10 years. We run an emergency clinic to treat the cause of the pain and also offer oral hygiene education and the supplies needed to look after their teeth at home to prevent these issues occurring again in the future. These projects make such a huge difference to many children’s lives and I’m so excited to be a part of one!
